Spouse Visa

  • I don't know where to start. I am married to a British Citizen and am not going to mail my documents in until a week and a half from now. What is the longest it will take if I hit peak time? They say 5 to 10 business days, but I am still worried. How strict is the UK embassy? MY husband and I don't have savings, but he is employed and we are not seeking public funds. Do I have a chance?

my husband was refused marriage visa in april this year , as they said that i was claiming tax credits ,( but i also work full time ) you have to convince the co that you wont increase the credits after your spouse joins you in the uk .
i also had a supporting letter from my mp ( this really does help)
we got granted the 2nd application last wednesday and he is on his was home as i write this , dont give up keep fighting them they will give you in the end , just keep praying good luck with your application any further questions contact me

    hi ,
it depends why he was refused on the application. was he deported ?

if you read the immagration law if he is coming back to you on a spouse visa there is no punishiment for spouse visa ( unless he as a criminal reacord , or was deported
    hope this helps

  • American with British Child

Hello. I first arrived to the UK on a Fiance Visa back in May 2007 and then proceeded to obtain my Spouse Visa in Feb 2008. I am currently 8 months pregnant and my husband has threatened to deny signing my settlement visa application in order to keep me from being involved in the child's life. Is there a way I can apply for an ILR Visa without his consent?

  • CONFUSED .... Aussie girl getting married to her UK partner what to do next ?

I have been granted a settlement with intent to marry visa and have now moved to the United Kingdom to be married on the 25th of July. I was told by the UK consulate in Australia that once I am married to my partner (who is a UK citizen ) I would then have to take my marriage certificate and visa to the UK embassy to have it changed to a spouse visa in order for me to stay here for 2 years then I could apply for the ILR. My confusion is I have rung the UK border agency and was told that in order for me to do anything I would have to go back to Australia to apply for my next visa then another company told me it could be changed for a fee of 700 pounds I was not told this by the Austrain / UK consulate they said it was a simple changover.. I am very confused and am hoping someone can help me with this.

    thanks

Ive just looked on the UK visa website and found out the husband and wife have to be over 21! I am from the UK but married to a Maldivian, I am 19 and have a baby on the way. My husband and me were looking to to settle in the UK but after reading the rules, its so unfair and so difficult. Is there anyway around this?
