Making friends in Ireland

• Hi Carlos, I hear you there, I have been living here for 11 years and whilst generally happy with life and living with my partner, I dont have any friends that I can ring us and say howzit going? Wanna go out, meet up, get trashed etc...
  Why do Irish people not like foreigners? I have never been able to make female friends whilst here and men think they're in with a chance because I am friendly to them! Beats me!!!! Recently I have decided that its healthy to go out and make friends apart from my partner but I just dont know where to start. When I came to Ireland I would go anywhere by myself but now going into my thirties I suddenly feel otherwise. Should I just have the guts and go out by myself??? It would be a cheaper night wouldnt it???
